Has anyone seen "Miracle at St. Anna"? It hits DVD next Tuesday and I'm really excited about it.

Re: Recently viewed movies
I saw Wendy and Lucy tonight.
Basically, Michelle Williams plays Wendy, who is driving to Alaska to work in a cannery but gets stuck in Oregon. She loses her dog and spends the rest of the movie looking for her, trying to get her car fixed, etc. That really is all that happens.
It sounds terrible but it's not bad.

I haven't seen her in much but I agree that she's good. I really admire this movie, Wendy and Lucy. It's only 80 minutes long, and sort of exists solely for a few minutes of emoting by Michelle Williams. It's tremendously understated and not in the least bit pretentious. Plus, there's something to be said for a film that has about three characters, minimal dialogue, almost no music, and still manages to keep you engaged.omaha_red wrote:i like Michelle WilliamsG. Anyone go see live theater? As in plays, not big Broadway productions. I haven't in ages and I'm not really sure why not.

I'm going to see Avenue Q when it comes to Austin soon. I highly recommend it. A musical comedy for the South Park generation.lukethedrifter wrote:Anyone go see live theater? As in plays, not big Broadway productions. I haven't in ages and I'm not really sure why not.

Do you ever go see live dramatic productions? You know, like movies only live? I've heard they can be entertaining.

Re: Recently viewed movies
I saw Ave Q at the Fox last year. i don't get to theatre much. the show was pretty good, but I had low expectations going in. There were some stiffs in the crowd around us that were a little too uptight to enjoy it. It was a good time.lukethedrifter wrote:I've heard Ave Q was very good.heyzeus wrote:I'm going to see Avenue Q when it comes to Austin soon. I highly recommend it.
