I prefer a black and Fat to a black and tan.
I tried mixing a schlafly coffe stout with their Maplewood (a lighter beer with some maple notes) at the bottleworks, but since neither was on nitro, they just mixed together. Meh.

Hitachino makes good stuff. I'm sure there are others but they're the first Japanese brewery I've seen making stouts and ales instead of just lagers.JL21 wrote:But then, I don't like Japanese beer so the sake actually makes it better to me.

Re: The Beer Thread
hopefully you rested the sake on a pair of chopsticks and hit the table with your fist to depth charge the shot. Otherwise it doesn't count.JL21 wrote:I've done the Sake Bomb thing, with sake and Japanese beer. But then, I don't like Japanese beer so the sake actually makes it better to me.
I was at mcgurks the other day when it was dead and tried a pumpkin pie shot dropped into a bass (maybe?). It was gross.
Nothing beats an irish car bomb, but the flaming dr pepper is a close second.

Re: The Beer Thread
I was visiting my folks this week and went into Schnucks and found Schafly. I had that one time in my life, at Hrabosky's place I think, before a game this summer. Thought it was pretty good then, so I picked up a six of the Pale Ale and the Oktoberfest. I drank all of the Pale Ale's Saturday night, they were pretty good. I had an Oktoberfest last night, that was pretty good too. I think I'll add this brewer to my "Safe" list.
How do you pronounce it?
