Reading some of his comments, he at least seems like a very likable coach. And I appreciate the graduation rate. I hope he makes me look like a real [expletive] for pissing and moaning about the hire.

Based on your personal bias, sure. But really, you're just pulling stuff out your arse and posting it.cardsfansince82 wrote:I'm willing to bet a lot more sketchy athletes have gotten in to Miami than Mizzou, whatever the rankings are for other students.phins wrote:It's rated #48 and is a Tier 1 school in the entire country. If it's considered top-5%, how could that not be considered elite?lukethedrifter wrote:I know you love the U and all but ... elite academically? I'm looking forward to hearing what he had to say tonight. I've heard he's put emphasis on getting Mizzou a legit big, which I'm glad to hear.JL21 wrote:Reading some of his comments, he at least seems like a very likable coach. I don't know how he'll work out, but at the very least, I'd say a sincere effort is likely.

Reggie is a legit big, and he developed him.
You guys will love his personality. It's all a matter of proving he can win. If he gets a few breaks early on, Alden could get the last laugh. It was a bad situation at Miami, where he wasn't really loved, they couldn't afford a second coach buyout.

Yeah, Miami has a long history of upstanding citizens on its football team. Based on your personal bias, I doubt you will ever acknowledge that.phins wrote:Based on your personal bias, sure. At this point, I'm 25% "There's more to Haith than meets the eye! M-I-Z!!!!" and 75% "When the [expletive] does football start?"
That's up from a 1/99 ratio yesterday.

We don't really have a choice but to talk ourselves into it.JL21 wrote:At this point, I'm 25% "There's more to Haith than meets the eye! M-I-Z!!!!" and 75% "When the [expletive] does football start?"

Capel is a really interesting hire. He is an extremely successful recruiter, but shares some of the weaknesses I've read about Haith. I'm kind of surprised he didn't wait to see if a HC job would come along.
