I'm perfectly OK with it. You can label it whatever you want to. I don't have to agree. You should also be fair with your labels. Why is Herm Edwards (Roman Catholic) "old fashioned" when he talks about Michael Sam's baggage, but Tony Dungy is a "homophobe"?

I'll tell you why.......... because Tony Dungy has the balls to wear his Christianity on his sleeve, and Herm Edwards doesn't, so he's open to being attacked, and so am I. Honestly, he's OK with that. It's the price you pay sometimes.

Well, for one thing, that was pre-Oprah.

For another thing, people attacking Dungy for the "distraction" thing isn't a big deal to me........... but when they assume it's because of his faith, I think that's unfair.

Read this very carefully: this isn't about religion. This is about someone having crappy opinions and claiming to be religious and open at the same time. When someone calls out a Christian it's not because of their faith itself, it's for the selective, hypocritical practicing of that faith.

Christians ARE persecuted when they are openly Christian. Dungy is a perfect example. Outrage here because of what he said. Meanwhile, nobody knows that Herm Edwards is a Roman Catholic, so they aren't really angry about HIS opinion. (not you specifically, because you rightly called Edwards a hypocrite, too)
