That will work, but that's all that I give to Carpenter. No more.

If you wait until he gets himself into trouble, then you have to go to a reliever instead of one of the starters. And, frankly, all those guys are more volatile than the starters are. Give the releivers 1 inning. That's it. 1 inning. How many times do we someone go out there for a 2nd inning and get crushed. Don't mess around with it.

That's why you go to the starters first. If Westbrook or Lohse or Jackson have it, you can ride them for an inning or two. If they don't, get 'em out and give the next guy a chance.

I don't bet against Carpenter. Even without his best stuff. Period.
Yeah. I leave him in right now.
Get someone warm as soon as he gives up 2 hard hit balls or 2 walks in an inning IMO.

i dunno.

he's had to dig himself out of trouble both innings so. with the umps strikezone and his inability to locate his pitches...just seems appropriate to get the bullpen warming

Yeah, I see TLR giving Carp time to figure it out or gut it out. Carp is one of the few that he lets the player tell him he's spent.

I'd like to see Raffy run wild on the bases out of the 7 spot - assuming he can get on.

Harrison doesn't have command tonight either. This should already be a walk. Basehit!
