Kendial Lawrence has a broken fibula and is out four weeks minimum. These injuries are getting out of control.

so he'll miss the sooner game. Bad deal.

Also -liking the 9:30pm start time for Friday nights ASU game.

What slays me about this is that any one of the injuries, by itself, isn't a back-breaker. They had a really good four back rotation. But Marcus Murphy got knocked out before the season even started, pushing it down to three. Then Lawrence- who was the de facto starter- gets knocked out for four games and suddenly their four back rotation is comprised of two guys.

Similarly, losing Elvis Fisher wasn't good, but they could live with it. But then Travis Ruth goes down and you've got all sorts of linemen playing out of position.

A few injuries aren't so bad. A bunch causes serious problems.

It could be worse. Hamilton, Gooden, Franklin, either kicker, pretty much anyone in the secondary, injuries to those guys would have been really bad news. Still, 7 starters out for Week 2. Come on.

What's the word on backup QB? Going with Costello or Berkstresser?

This week's depth chart says Costello over Berkstresser.

Any thoughts on who you prefer to win a game?

I've personally picked off Jimmy Costello more than once, so if I want to win a game, my answer is always going to be "not Jimmy Costello".
