There is something scary and at the same time very comforting how space puts in proper scale our lives here on Earth. Earth is barely a speck in the darkness quivering ever so slightly from the energy of the sun. To us that quivering is our lives, seemingly so important and grandiose when viewed from our perspectives. That relaxes me, and yet frightens me a little bit.

whenever i start thinking about myself, my purpose, why i (man) is here and how we really know very little about what is out in space, my head really does start hurting and i'm forced to change the subject.
