Interesting -

He earned a Super Bowl ring after Chicago’s 1985 Super Bowl season, despite spending the year on injured reserve with an ankle injury that prematurely ended his playing career. In 1983, Fisher had suffered a broken leg on a punt return when he was tackled by then-Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Bill Cowher, the future head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While on injured reserve, he became a defensive assistant to Buddy Ryan. When Ryan left the following year to work for the Eagles, Fisher went with him.

In 1991, Fisher headed west to be reunited with his college coach John Robinson, serving as the Los Angeles Rams’ defensive coordinator for one season.

Thoughts on these? The Jets offense hadn't seemed as woeful as some others, but I think they needed a better QB and despite this weekend, I haven't hated the Saints D the last few years.

Gregg Williams is one of the better D coordinators in the NFL. I'm fully behind that choice.

Schottenheimer, meh.

Schottenheimer at least got marginal results from a terrible QB, and I think Bradford is at least a little better than Sanchez, so that gives me hope. My big gripe with Schotty is that he tended to abandon the run once his team got to first and goal, but we'll see if that keeps up or not.

Gregg Williams is fine with me.

Maybe Schotty isn't set. Mortensen says former Raiders coach Hue Jackson will interview for OC tomorrow.
