It's gonna turn out we royally [expletive] up on developing Hicks too, huh.
Jordan Hicks pitched five no-hit innings and struck out 10 as the Giants topped the A’s 4-1 on Monday.
Wow. Hicks was brilliant tonight even though he threw all of his pitches 4-5 mph slower than he had as a reliever. He got 20 missed swings on his 72 pitches against A’s regulars. Yes, that’s much like facing another team’s backups, but it’s pretty impressive, nevertheless.
overall this spring Hicks has got a 2.65 ERA, 17 IP with 28K, 8BB

compared to us, Mikolas has a 2.25 ERA....but Matz has a 10.50, Lynn is at 5.79, and Gibson at 10.80.
Jack Flaherty has also been an artist this spring with a sub-3 ERA and 26/4 K/BB
finally surrounded by people that understand "the art of pitching"

I've never taken the development complaints that seriously, but starting to wonder. We have a better than average track record for getting people into the majors if I'm not mistaken, but maybe the issue is getting players to their ceiling.

Athletics acquired LHP T.J. McFarland from the Dodgers for cash considerations.
The 34-year-old southpaw wasn’t going to crack the Dodgers’ bullpen and was unlikely to accept a minor league assignment, so the Dodgers flipped him for whatever they could get from a team in desperate need of bullpen help. Expect McFarland to make the A’s Opening Day bullpen.

He’s only got 1 walk in his 2 starts

If he can minimize the walks and stay off the IL, he could be a steal

How long before this out-performance of traded players developed in the Cardinal's systems is more than SSS?

Ton is doing well so far with the Sawx.

He's also lowered his K rate.
