What do you mean we've seen him "go into the fire" for Vick? He never had Vick on his team. He said some kind things about Vick..........sure, but he's also said kind things about Michael Sam.

It's pretty clear you are going to bend over backwards to defend Dungy no matter what because Christianity and because Colt, but this has already been covered ad nauseum. Dungy personally vouched for Vick when he came out of prison as a born again Christian who had matured, and asked teams to take a chance on him.

I INVENTED AN ENTIRE NEW BRANCH OF RELIGIOUS SABERMETRICS IN THIS THREAD.

If that doesn't win me the thread, I don't know what will.

There are a few more angles to cover. Such as how in the [expletive] was Blaine Gabbert a 1st rounder?

oh come on. fine, you can erase that point from my record. what about the other stuff i posted. the deduction.

he's a homophobe. he has the right to be but he also has the right to hear disappointed people express their views and call him out. as others have said, society determines where we are with acceptance. and right now, society think its a lame ass excuse to say that michael sam and the "distraction" he brings for being gay is not worthy of being drafted (not make the team, of being drafted). and AGAIN, dungy was willing to put his name to vick and say he deserved a chance (reminder, for being federally convicted of dog fighting, in prison for 2 years). And yes, he has said some "nice" things about sam, but he himself would not draft him because of the distraction but he himself (tony) was willing to "go into the fire" of vicks "distraction" and help him along. but he refuses for sam. he outright refuses. it does not make sense logically.

why does tony refuse him outright? distraction? ok, but that doesn't fly with his history.

Maybe that is basketball too..i can't recall,.don't they have a long rap sheet? You know, nothing as distracting as having the 1st openly gay trying out for your team, but some history.

i mean yea...but not any longer than any other team though.

Half of Kiffin's players were either arrested or defected after he left but dooley and butch have managed to keep the arrests down
