I'll always root for Wacha. My brother's friend is (was?) Wacha's agent, and they hung out in Houston once. Nice guy. My brother even forgave him for being an Aggie.

Trevor Rosenthal was clocked at 95-96 mph during his free agent showcase on Tuesday, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Heyman adds, however, that the showcase in Miami Gardens ended a bit early when Rosenthal came down with a hamstring cramp. 14 teams were in attendance, and one of them figures to take a shot on the hard-throwing reliever. The hamstring issue will probably prove to be a minor blip.

Giants signed RHP Shelby Miller to a minor league contract.

Miller recently exercised an opt-out in his minor league deal with the Yankees after posting a 1.71 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 25/6 K/BB ratio across 21 innings for Triple-A Scanton/Wilkes-Barre. He's already made one scoreless appearance for the Giants' Triple-A affiliate in Sacramento. The 31-year-old has a 9.17 in 37 appearances in the majors from 2018-21.
