Surely they treat the [expletive] water before distributing it, no? That's beyond illogical. Birds and fish immediately come to mind of other animals that piss/poop in there. Speaking of which, how many fish are going to be killed doing this?

No. It goes from the reservoir to treatment. Or it should. You can't keep animals from defecating in it.

City water is stored in reservoir post treatment. St. Louis Water Dept plants are on the rivers. Reservoir is at Grand and 44.
