Still, I would be concerned. Rivals has their recruiting class at #42 in the country, which is the worst class coming in from all SEC schools. Including even Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

The league is sick.
Most Pinkel-era recruiting classes have had very similar rankings, and they weren't coming off of 5-7 seasons. 2005- 39th, 2006- 47th, 2007- 33rd. Those three recruiting classes made up a giant chunk of a national title contender. The 2008 class was 25th and the 2009 class was 40th... and they won 10 games in 2010. Pinkel's staff has consistently overachieved these rankings, year in and year out, finding 2-star guys like Sean Weatherspoon and 3-star guys like Chase Daniel. IIRC, Aldon Smith was another 3-star guy.

Obviously, you're right- SEC schools are monsters that can acquire massive amounts of talent. And Mizzou will have to do better than they did this year to do well in the SEC. No dispute about that whatsoever. But I don't think it's as grim as it looks based off of one year. If they go 6-6 or worse next year, then there could be serious trouble. And hell, Pinkel might not even be around at that point.
