Thanks y'all. You definitely make me feel less alone. Good chance my brother and I will be road tripping to STL over thanksgiving week.

My father passed away this morning after a brutal fight with cancer, and then in the last few days, pneumonia. My brother and I drove for 15 hours and made it to St. Louis last night, in time to see him, say goodbye, and be with him as he passed - peacefully, and on his terms. He was done fighting, and done being in pain. We decided he'll be buried in his Stan Musial jersey, the player that he idolized for all of his life.

I don't think I've ever choked up over the passing of a parent of someone I've never actually met in person, but dammit if I'm not sitting here tearing up for you Zeus.

I am so sorry man. And I am relieved that you got there to say your goodbyes. F cancer.

Sorry for your loss, zeus. Can't believe it has been almost 4 years ago since I was standing in your exact shoes. Funny you say that about Stan as I made sure to put my dad's Stan Musial cap in his casket. I am glad to hear you were with him as he passed. Not sure how you felt about it but I found that to be very cathartic - seeing the life leave someone's body.

My sincere condolences to you and your family.

My deepest condolences to you & your family, zeus. I went through the same thing a few years ago, was with my dad as he passed. Blessings to you.
