Though I don't get to watch much NBA, the above is not my understanding.TGantz wrote:Stephen Curry is such a pure point guard. Love to watch him play.

He's not a pure point in the Rajon Rondo mold, but in terms of vision and court awareness, he's an excellent point guard. One of those guys that if you don't know what to look for you can miss it in terms of how he moves with and without the ball, recognizes holes in the defense and exploits space.lukethedrifter wrote:Though I don't get to watch much NBA, the above is not my understanding.TGantz wrote:Stephen Curry is such a pure point guard. Before Brandon Roy's knees went all Oden, I dreamed of a point guard like what Curry has become. Roy can have the ball, and Curry would spread the floor and give him lots of room, and if things break down Curry can create his own shot.thrill wrote:He's not a pure point in the Rajon Rondo mold, but in terms of vision and court awareness, he's an excellent point guard. Re: NBA 10-11
Great point. I guess the word "pure" wasn't necessarily the best adjective. My point was that he has amazing vision like Rondo, but has less APG because of the difference in talent around them. Curry can create for himself, and Rondo is more dependent on his teammates making the basket. I'm not saying Curry is more valuable. But I enjoy his style more than the Rajon Rondo, Andre Miller, or Baron Davis style point guards.thrill wrote:He's not a pure point in the Rajon Rondo mold, but in terms of vision and court awareness, he's an excellent point guard. I think I enjoy his shot as much as I enjoy Ray Allen's. That quick, smooth release is great.

Yeah I guess a good way to put it is that Curry is like diet Steve Nash and diet Ray Allen all in one.

I'd love to see Curry on a team with Dwyane Wade. It's too bad Dwyane Wade has been ruined probably forever. Curry can carry an offense for stretches, but doesn't need the ball.
