Back to the draft.
Unless we can package our picks to trade up for a top-10 tier defenseman, I think our best path in the draft is to take the Ruck twins with 11 and 15, then target the best defenseman left on the board at 29.
Looking at the D corps longer-term then, you have:
LD: Broberg, Fowler, Tucker, (Lindstein)
RD: Parayko, Mailloux, Kessel, (Jiricek)
I think you try to draft a LD, then search for a top pairing RD on the free agent or trade market. Which yes I know is nearly impossible to find. Parayko can likely still take top pairing minutes on the defensive end, but I think he's better slated as a 2nd pair going forward. I don't think Mailloux will quite develop into that top pair. Jiricek is likely more of a 2nd pairing ceiling.
