Next time I talk to a customer that says they didn't receive their modem even though UPS shows it was delivered my canned response is going to be "those damn drug addicts are at it again!"

One last thing. The NBC news article I posted estimated that 23 million people will have packages stolen this year.

You can decide if that is an epidemic.

Well that should shut up all the people in this thread who were saying stolen packages aren't a problem.

Hang on!!! I'd like to see statistics on how many items are stolen from department stores every year...because that has epidemic written all over it too! I would venture to say that somewhere around 67% of all department store thieves use the money to buy drugs.

To test Wart's hypothesis, I just texted my weed guy asking how much weed I could get for an unopened amazon mystery box. He said if it felt like electronics, he'd give me an eighth for a small box or a quarter for a medium sized box. So I do indeed have some options.

I think you should open the box, pawn whatever is in it, and use the money to buy your pot.

Those are pretty good odds on your part.....I don't order much if anything off amazon that costs $80-$100 small/medium/or large box. You might have found yourself a nice supplemental income.

There have been several local news stories in recent years about stolen packages. Not sure where youse guys are getting your news.

Now whether or not that means there's an epidemic I'd say no. Not that there is or isn't one, just that local news isn't really in the newsy news business.

I'm not sure how I'm going to resist grabbing all these packages I see sitting in entryways to my neighborhood apartment buildings. I've been walking past a gold mine of drug trades!
