Vince Young was a strong running QB with questionable throwing mechanics who won a National Title in college and was drafted in the 1st round among questions of his ability to QB an NFL team and then went on to rattle off a bunch of wins when he first started in the NFL.

Now he's Michael Vick's backup. Just sayin.

Did he set a conference record for passing efficiency in college?

Tebow may fail, just like Young. We'll see. I'm obviously going to root for him because he's a Bronco, and he's an extremely likeable guy.

It seems like about everything that can possibly be written or said about Tebow has been said already. I am doing my damndest to tune it out.

I just don't like Tebow for the way he looks - kind of like I am not a fan of Jay Cutler, and sometimes Matt Holliday. Not a fan of overhyped players - like Brian Bosworth, Refrigerator Perry, and even Urlacher.

Sounds dumb I know, but I'm a sports fan, and by definition am irrational. Trying to play around with statistics to justify my case against them, or even worse-pretending I know the true character of these guys -I'm just not going to do it. I don't like them, just because.

But overall, I am happy that Tebow is around. This has been a pretty bad NFL season to follow, injuries and Rams and all. So Tebow has spiced it up a bit, even if I'm rooting against him.

If Tebow was the QB for the Rams on the brink of the playoffs -I'd believe I'd be in his corner - not the God stuff, but just because he's on my team and they are sticking it to the national punditry jackass network. Kurt Warner situation was comparable in some regards -and would use every occassion I could to aggravate my Ram-hater friends and family with the scans below of the Warner Jesus football cards. Ah the good old days. That was my church, and Rev Ike and Warner the preachers.

Tebow was off-the-charts on the Wonderlic test, set an SEC record for passing proficiency, and had unquestionable attitude and work ethic.

He wasn't perfect coming out of college...... everyone agreed on that. But he was certainly a good NFL prospect.

Are you suggesting that names should just be pulled out of a hat, and drafted accordingly?
