I have a Double Play question... This has been on my mind since opening night's Double Play fest.

what's the season record for Double Plays by a team? I found a stat on MLB.com for GDP in a season (1990 Red Sox - 174). Does that include plays like Miles being "caught stealing" after a strike out or not?

MLB.com currently has the Cardinals at 12 (a pace of something like 240+)!

Am I on the right path or am I missing some?

edit: someone feel free to make a thread over this... I just figured I'd post this in the game thread since it was fresh in my mind after the first inning ending double play.
