I watch 3 or 4 shows in total (Archer, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, something else) and all you guys want to talk about is the Walking Dead; which has become just a terrible show. It lasted longer than The Killing did for me, but I am out on it regardless.Vidor wrote:Little bit surprised that GRB hasn't been talking more about this.JackofDiamonds wrote:In the Game of Thrones

Basically they need the Governor to have some muscle at his disposal next season, and they want the Governor to live, so they completely avoided any logical reaction from those two. That's how TWD rolls unfortunately. Characters follow the needs of the plot, not the other way around. We can't have these bodyguards just killing the guy like they ought to. We need to save the battle for the end of the season, so we'll just have Rick and the Governor babble needlessly at each other for an episode. We can't have Andrea turning on the Governor yet, so Maggie's not going to mention her sexual assault, etc.....
Not that I'm an expert on writing TV shows, but that's how it seems as a viewer.
I can't help but be interested in the zombies, the post-apocalyptic world, and the kinds of issues that come up due to that. I'm always eager to watch it, and occasionally they do a really nice job. Seems like there's reason to be optimistic about the guy running the show next year though.
Read this interview with Graham Yost earlier today, who runs Justified and - well, you get the sense they think things through in a way they don't on TWD.

I'm seriously impressed with how much Justified has improved each year to varying degrees. Last night's finale brought damn near everything from the season full circle. It's a much better show than it was when it started.
I think that's spot-on and it's why I think it's a really mediocre show that gets away with a LOT just because it has zombies. It's a very enjoyable mediocre show and I like watching it... but I don't think particularly highly of the production.ghostrunner wrote:Basically they need the Governor to have some muscle at his disposal next season, and they want the Governor to live, so they completely avoided any logical reaction from those two.
