She addressed that on "The Talking Dead". She said her character knew her only shot of trying to "broker peace" between the two sides was to head back to Woodbury. Making a scene right after the "peace summit" and leaving to go back to the prison would have just incited the Governor, and basically, all her character wants is peace and she is plotting and scheming trying to find a way to avoid a big war. And she did try to kill him this episode and Milton stopped her.

Still don't like her, but that was what she said.

My bf said, before the show started - "Ready for the big war to go down?"
and I said "Is this the season finale?"
He said "No"
and I said, "then the war is not going to happen in this show."

I was super creeped out by the Governor's joyful torture whistle. And seeing Andrea in the torture chamber was also unnerving.
It was. But shouldn't Andrea have left like 8 episodes ago! Why does everyone hang around the Govenor?!?!?
I don't think so. She didn't know about the things he'd done prior to finding out about his daughter and the heads. You can rationalize the daughter away pretty easily I think. What that doesn't address is why michonne wasn't more clear about what she'd seen and why nobody at the prison told Andrea about what happened to Maggie. That was just delaying the plot for its own sake and pretty frustrating.

Well, we don't know what Michonne is thinking now.
But we certainly know what Daryl is thinking.

For a while I wanted Rick to go, last night, when he was going to give up Michonne. I mean, enough flip flopping, and visions of your horrible wife... Seems like poor, unfocused writing. They just need to make up their mind. Rick can be a hero, or an anti-hero. TV is littered w/ Anti-heroes people love. But this flip flopping has got to end.

One of the critics I follow on Twitter grilled it pretty good. I agree with a lot of what he had to say.
@EricDSnider
Haven't seen tonight's WALKING DEAD yet, but this season feels like they got an order for 16 episodes when they only had enough story for 9.

"What if we spend an entire episode on Rick and the Governor sitting at a table revealing 90 seconds' worth of story information??"

"What if we spend an entire episode on someone trying to warn the prison group but -- wait for it -- not succeeding??"

I'll finish out the season, but then I'm done unless they find some new angle to keep my interest. "Zombies!!!" isn't enough.

I agree. It's a good point.
When it's good, it's still really good though.

This isn't new. The show has always sucked outside of the zombie gimmick. The show running, writing and acting has been really bad. Zombies & violence are just good enough to keep people interested through the lean times plot-wise.

I think that's part of what bothers me about it. You see it that way, and I see it that way. But it's so wildly popular and AMC gives it sooooo much love that apparently there are lots of people out there who think it's the best show on TV or something.

Seriously, there's The Walking Dead; The Talking Dead; and now they're airing black and white versions of episodes, which is possibly the dumbest [expletive] thing I've ever heard. There are three whole time slots dedicated just to one show, which might as well be called "Zombie Targets" because that's how much I care about 90% of the characters. That's kind of obnoxious.

I think it's annoying how AMC has succeeded in spite of its terrible mismanagement of the show as evidenced by firing their showrunner every offseason and I'm worried at how that will affect them going forward. They think they're part of why the show has had such huge success when it's essentially all been done on the backs of their make up artists. If they didn't have such a bullteproof product, they'd be where they were before Walking Dead.

Back when they were just trying to break into the original content game, they made shows I loved (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Rubicon) but they weren't ratings juggernauts. Now that they're in the ratings big time with Walking Dead, I wonder if they'll try to make great TV or great rated TV going forward. Unfortunately I'm pretty much positive they're going for the cheap ratings as evidenced by the dumb, faux-reality tv (the taxidermy show, the kevin smith and his dumb friends show, the show about a show - talking dead, etc) they're producing now that pretty much exemplifies the nadir of creative content compared to the aforementioned truly great shows they created before they stepped into the ratings big leagues.

Rubicon was great. What a shame.

Word. Preaching to the choir.
