This is pretty cool, re:Discovery. Just now happened to see it. This is the guy (at the bottom) who plays the engineer.
And 13 hours is really still too long.

Season 3> Season 2> Season 1
I haven’t gotten to the finale yet which I’ve seen criticisms of - they sound pretty similar to my criticism of the S2 finale. So we’ll see.
However, the middle of this season has been a nice run and I like what they’re doing with the future. Just had an episode where they return to Vulcan and it’s maybe my favorite of the series. Nice blend of old school Trek philosophizing with the more personal and emotional bent this show has.

Legazy: Do you think about whether Zips will be used/useful 5, 10, 15 years after you choose to / are no longer able to run it?
Dan Szymborski: Haven’t really given it much thought
Dan Szymborski: Après moi, le déluge and all that
Dan Szymborski: Depends how much baseball changes

Re: Every Year is the Year of Star Trek
So how do communications in Trek travel faster than warp? They'll be a week away from somewhere at Warp 7 but can communicate with the whole Alpha quadrant in real time? So how are these communications going faster than light? Is it that they are sent via "subspace" and therefore operate under different rules of physics?
My favorite is when they are traveling somewhere at warp speed and then need to send a message ahead which gets there faster than the ship that just sent it.

https://comicbook.com/startrek/news/sta ... cite-fans/Anson Mount, star of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, is confident the Star Trek: Discovery spinoff will delight fans of classic Star Trek. Mount teased as much in July as filming began on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' first season finale. Now that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has wrapped production entirely, all the remains for fans are to wait until the post-production team does its thing and the series can debut on Paramount+ sometime in 2022. Mount is also voicing Batman in DC's Injustice movie, releasing today. While promoting the film, he went into more details about what he meant we he addressed Star Trek's "old school" fans.
"Well, I think that tweet was a little misinterpreted. I was talking about episode 10, specifically," Mount explained to SYFY Wire. "But I do think the spirit of our show is in its title. We're going back to the big idea of the week, the new planet of the week. I think that in itself is going to be exciting for old school fans, as well as new ones."

Re: Every Year is the Year of Star Trek
Trekkies outside the US & Canada got hosed.Paramount Plus is grabbing back its Star Trek: Discovery series from Netflix, where it’s been streaming to international viewers for three seasons.
The series lived on Paramount Plus (fka CBS All Access) for US viewers and on Canada’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel, but the move will bring old and future seasons of the series under a single streaming umbrella for folks outside of those regions. Season 4 of Discovery had previously been set to debut on Paramount Plus in the US, CTV Sci-Fi Channel, and on Netflix elsewhere on November 18th.
The show will leave Netflix at 12AM PT in regions where it had previously been available to stream. (It will remain on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and stream on the Crave in Canada.) All seasons of the show will become available to international viewers in 2022
