Choke does imply some mental lapse or cowardess, and that does not apply to the women team. They didn't slam the door shut, they pissed it away, etc.. but they didn't choke. I really hope someday they look at the silver and look at it with pride. Right now they probably want to throw the [expletive] thing in the garbage, and I would feel the same.

Semantics? Sure. But if we insist on labeling it, let's label it correctly.

Well, the first mistake was the first goal, and the second mistake was the second goal, and the third mistake was the third goal.

We can each label choking how we like, and I'll label it my way, which is any sporting contest in which you have a big lead late in the event and by any measure SHOULD win, but instead perform very badly, and lose. So, yes, that was a major choke.

Texas did choke. Even more applicable as they choked in large part due to an appalling misplay by Cruz in right field.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the men's team trails 2-0 in the bronze medal game against Finland after allowing two goals nine (nine!) seconds apart.

What the hell is this? This isn't sport. Not even close, and it proves it when they aren't even keeping fake score like they usually do. God I hate figuring skating with a passion.
