He is.

One dinger, and all is forgiven. Besides, the fan's old enough to forget about it within half an hour.

Orioles designated INF Breyvic Valera for assignment.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Austin Brice. Valera has batted .216/.286/.243 across 37 games in the majors over the last two years for three different teams.

In discussing bench options, Mozeliak said, “The one I wouldn’t lose sight of is Breyvic, from an offensive standpoint. He is a switch hitter. He really can play anywhere. I’m not saying he plays it well but he can stand there for a little bit. If you’re looking at a 25th man. . . if there’s a lefthanded bat, what could it be? Well, the one guy internally I feel like we overlook is Breyvic.”

Mozeliak indicated he would rather go with someone like Valera as an extra man than sign a lefthanded hitter from outside the organization.

“It’s tough,” said Mozeliak. “Where would we really use it? It becomes almost the 25th man. I don’t think closing doors is ever a great strategy but it does seem like a tougher fit.”

I hope Mo's not setting the bar too high.

OTOH you aren’t going to find a higher career highlight for Eck than the WS MVP trophy.
