Hypocrisy at its finest.

Coaches bail on their team before bowls all the time

Yeah, but I assume coaches won't get paid for that game if they bail, right?

Players are under scholarship to play. I feel like they should play. Either that or give your scholarship to someone else. Not a huge deal, I guess.

I'm not sure. I mean, they shouldn't.

Truthfully, I have no idea how they get paid.............. so yeah, I'm for real.

Also, the comparison seems a little weak. Coaches can also get fired if they don't perform well. Players get their scholarship, whether they go 0-10 or 10-0.

Coaches also get compensated if they go 0-10. And they still get paid if they take another job.

I'd like to see both coaches and players attend bowl games. It's a shame when either of them bail. From a personal standpoint, I feel like it would be darn near impossible to keep me from playing.

This seems like a slippery slope. When is it "OK" for players to stop playing? Half way through a season? Entire season? Just the bowl game?

Not necessarily. Scholarships aren't always four year deals. Many are for one year. Kid starts sucking and the scholarship can be yanked i.e. They transfer. Also, Bama is the king of the gray shirt

Saban said this and I have to agree. Will be interesting to compare attendance and viewership of non CFP games going forward.

tennessee is playing nebraska less than a mile from me and i have no desire to go.

but that may be more because of their finish and i hate butch jones so theres a good chance i'd be kicked out of the stadium for being belligerent.

I'm 3 hrs from Charlotte. You couldn't pay me to go watch my Hogs get their teeth kicked in by Va Tech on Thursday.
