People who think you are not allowed to say 'Super Bowl' don't understand trademark law. Anyone can use the words 'Super Bowl' to refer to the event, but may not use them, or confusingly similar words, to refer to any other sporting event. Unlike copyrights and patents, trademarks are there to protect the consumer.
