I'd say it was (overall) good not great, especially for a Season Premier. More of a mop-up episode. But the Intro was outstanding! A couple of really good lines, and the last line of the night was absolutely creepy.

Overall, outstanding.
I don't like Walt threatening Saul.
As bad as Walt's gotten, that seemed way, way out of place and poorly done.

My predictions based on the cold open, just observations not really spoilers, but I'm guessing at least some of this is right:
[SHOW]
Walt has been on the run alone for almost a year. He isn't wearing his wedding ring. I've got to assume Skyler is completely 'gone' by the time this occurs. Whether she is dead or never coming back is symbolized by Walt making the 52 and remembering her.

The arms dealer also mentions not finding the hardware in Mexico, which means he probably has reason to assume Walt's target is south of the border - someone else on the run from the DEA. Walt says he won't have to go there, he'll be able to stay right in (presumably) Alb, NM.

I'm wondering about the $100 tip + Cayman bank account(s) that were showcased later in the episode, presumably some of the cash Walt has is probably tied to these accounts, and the bills' serial numbers would be on DEA record by the time of the cold open.

He leaves the tip because it is a marked bill and will cause someone to come up from Mexico to find him. Against everything the production and cast has said, the only character that was ever that smart and well-connected was Gus... Or it could be a future Jessie, given that he knows they frequented Denny's.

There is also the possibility this M60 is the weapon used against Walt and/or his family, and he went through a great deal to acquire the same one for revenge. The camera holds on it for a bit too long to just be a piece of equipment Walt is buying, like it has some past significance and he chose it for a reason but obviously he doesn't know how to use it so he wasn't the previous wielder. Just speculation but it makes more since than Walt's traditional arsenal of chemistry.

Punting after 2 episodes of Newsroom. And I was so looking forward to getting to know Olivia Munn.

Walt just took down a vicious multimillionaire drug kingpin by outsmarting him, and successfully demolished the evidence against him that was already in police custody. He also poisoned a child along the way. And his arrogance has clearly grown in the wake of all of that. Why WOULDN'T he see Saul as a bug on his windshield?

So I liked Rome, and in a weird way enjoy spartacus....but started the first 2 episodes of Tudors, aaaand I don't like it. Does it get better? Seems to be in the mold of the shows I liked....but something's off...

Season 3 of Tudors (started season 1 just last week) and I just really love all the historical details (which are mostly embellished). Easily missed - Hans Holbein assaults a fiancee of one of Henry XVII's mistresses for barging in while he paints her.

Just started watching The Inbetweeners. It's like a British version of Superbad, which means it's hilarious, but I'm sure some of you idiots are too sophisticated for such nonsense. The first two seasons are on Netflix.
