And this is why McCain felt the need to use the 9/11 attack for his political gain?BW23 wrote:"nothing has been planned"
Did you skip over that part of it? The planning started on Clinton's watch...in large part because of Clinton. 1993 was his warning sign (along with many, many others), and he blew it.

I think it's pretty crazy to assume that...BW23 wrote:How much has been planned to harm us and then implemented on our soil in the last 8 years?
Nothing.
For those that want to go against what I said, they better arm themselves with a bunch of lies, because that's all they'll have.
1. There would have been other attacks on US soil but the President (that's what we're discussing here after all) prevented them from succeeding.
2. If we'd had a Democrat in office there would have been subsequent successful attacks on US soil.

You already know what was planned before then. It was carried out on September 11 of 01.
Clinton not only didn't stop Osama, he helped him gain popularity among those that follow him.
He declared war on America in 1998. Who was in charge then? It was obvious he was coming after us. It had been for years prior to that.
After that, Clinton knew where he was and could have killed him. He blew it.
Both Bush presidents deserve their share of blame, too. But the large majority of blame, from me, is on Bill's head.
He had other things on his mind.

I'm not suggesting that.Richie Allen wrote:I think it's pretty crazy to assume that...BW23 wrote:How much has been planned to harm us and then implemented on our soil in the last 8 years?

Plots on U.S. soil have been averted since 2001. That much is known. Is it W's credit? Not solely. Would a Dem pres. been able to achieve that as well? Possibly.
But I'll take my chances with a Republican in charge. Then again, that goes for every issue.
We're just spinning wheels here, though. You won't change. I won't change. And nothing nobody says will make us change. Same goes for many others. Some just like arguing.
I've got more important things to do mostly. I've wasted too much time here. I don't enjoy it. In fact, I hate it actually. I despise the entire political process. Some of it much more than others.

And none of this is a reason to use 9/11 for political gain in our country.

So what, your team wins? The Democrats are more to blame than the Republicans? Is that what you're saying?BW23 wrote:You already know what was planned before then. It was carried out on September 11 of 01.

Because I didn't vote for Bill Clinton, wouldn't vote for him now and no of no one on here who would. What's that have to do with Barrack Obama? Or John McCain, for that matter?

If they want to make people think they'll do a better job of protecting us than the last couple of presidential offices, I don't have a problem with that.Socnorb11 wrote:And this is why McCain felt the need to use the 9/11 attack for his political gain?BW23 wrote:"nothing has been planned"

And neither would you if Obama had done the same.
I'm quite sick of the high horse Obamamaniacs are showing. Particularly the last couple of days.

It's not "high horse". Obama knew better than to exploit the 9/11 victims for political gain. McCain chose to take the low road for political gain........again.BW23 wrote:If they want to make people think they'll do a better job of protecting us than the last couple of presidential offices, I don't have a problem with that.Socnorb11 wrote:And this is why McCain felt the need to use the 9/11 attack for his political gain?BW23 wrote:"nothing has been planned"

Again, if you want to convince us how you'll protect our country, tell us how. Let's not pretend that McCain wants to protect our country but Obama doesn't. John McCain isn't the only guy alive that loves this country.

Also, I don't like being lumped into the those that "won't change" category. The majority of my beliefs lie on the conservative side and they've been pretty well documented on this site. I have, however, come to recognize the benefit of some of the more liberal social stances over the years. That, and I've come to believe that the strength of our economy is not always the absolutely most important thing to consider. I've never voted for a Democrat before but I will this year and it's based solely on Obama. I couldn't have possibly voted for Hillary. I've admitted for over a year now that my vote is going for who I feel is the best person for the job, with little or no respect to the issues. I'm sure there's a name for that kind of voter but I feel very comfortable backing him.
