Re: Blues Off-season and 2025-26 Season
Another really good first period, followed by two periods of ugly futility.
We cannot BUY a big goal when we need it.
And we continue to be the worst at 6-5 and 5-6 play.

Late in the 2nd and we are down 5-0 to Colorado. We have 5 shots on goal to their 30.
They have as many GOALS as we have SHOTS ON GOAL.

I didn't watch the game, but man it sounds like it was just brutal. Like watching state champ varsity football squad play a middling JV team.

Then we win 2 in a row. Go figure.
Hey we resigned torpo. 2 years, $2.5m per. Seems a bit high to me for a 4th liner but I’m probably not taking into account the cap raising so much.
He’s now a year and a half from that nice 14 goal season. (10 the year before) Maybe they think he has more of that in him… also he’s 6’6”, 225#.
I’m guessing it’s a fine deal moving forward.

Once Holloway and Suter are back, I thought he’d be one of the ones sitting, so shows how much I know
Not sure how you can sit anyone else as well as they’ve been playing

Another quick start followed by a total collapse.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Re: Blues Off-season and 2025-26 Season
Broberg resigned!! 6 years at $8m per!!
Folks on other boards who watch waaay more than me and occasionally post advanced stats stuff indicate he’s been borderline top line worthy this year in all around play. Basically, in my very amateur and not really worth paying attention to opinion, that’s a really good deal for both sides. Broberg gets life changing money, but he hits FA at 30 with the chance for another big deal. The Blues get him in his prime for what is probably currently market rate, and that deal gets better as the cap rises substantially over the next few years.
I’m sure the team would have preferred the max 8 years, and Broberg probably wanted 4 to hit FA at 28, (I’m totally guessing on that. Spitballing -m EDIT: JR confirmed this was the case). Nice signing! Woot!!

And of course Broberg gets caught with a quasi slew foot and might have a concussion in game 1 of the extension. SMH.
