would be kind of awesome if mizzou caused two teams (TN and AR) to fire their coaches after losses to the program. Don't look now, but Mizzou is playing pretty decent and has a damn good chance to end up in a bowl which I think is a result we all would have taken after the rough start to the season.

It's a new day go birds. I don't know who Tennessee is looking at, but if I were them, I would take a good hard look at Matt Campbell at Iowa State. He's young, energetic, sharp, and been a winner everywhere he has been thus far.

I would’ve believed 7-5 at the start of the season but I wouldn’t have believed the way it’s happened.

Also Mizzou played a close game vs Kentucky; otherwise, it’s been win by 18+ or lose by 18+.

Now that that's out of the way...i watched John Currie's (AD) press conference today and the two takeaways are:

-they aren't using a search firm for this hire
-money is not going to be an issue

I'm lead to believe that they already have their guy. I believe that person is jon gruden

eta: and i realize i am contradicting myself when i say jon gruden, but based on name recognition alone, he will bring in a top recruiting class immediately, which is exactly what TENN needs right now.

Not another 2-year rebuilding cycle.

What if Jon says no? Who then?

there's been chatter of dan mullen, kiffin, chip kelly and gundy.

I'd be ok with any of those. Dan mullen is probably the best/most realistic option. I wouldn't necessarily be excited about it, but its a huge step up from that clown that's been trotting the sidelines for the past 5 years.
