These same people tend to post 20 of these damn things a day. That's an unfollow for me. "Like & Share if you agree" is an other way to guarantee I won't like or share whatever was posted.

I decided a few weeks ago I was done with facebook, then my counsin texted me and said "hey you haven't responded about what we are doing on" whatever it was she was talking about. So I'm like dang I do want to be involved there because I do stay in contact with some good friends there. A couple days later I was just really frustrated that my feed was just a wall of [expletive] memes and Trump worshipers and I went on a huge unfollow binge. My life has been way better since then. I'm actually kind of enjoying Facebook again a little because I'm not seeing any of that crap just my friends that are all smart enough not to post that garbage. I've also decided I'm limiting new friends to just close friends as well. My list ballooned and that was my fault. I let too many known morons on my friends list. So now it's just family and close friends. Most of my family is unfollowed. lol

Yeah, I can't follow my mom. She's the worst. And I unfollow spammers regularly, and then I feel bad when they say something nice to me, so I go to their wall and try to find something amusing to like.

lol my mom has sent me several friend requests that i've ignored. i know it seems harsh, but while i am republican, she takes right wing to a whole new level and i just cant deal with the stuff she shares. that and the ungodly amount of pics/stuff she would tag me in.

Yeah, I'm fairly liberal and the rest of my family is right wing. I posted a reasonable article that was pro-refugee, and my mom accused me of posting "hateful" things on Facebook. She barely knows how to use it.

My feed is weird. Some of my closest friends I have un-followed for ages for whatever reason. I also keep up with several people from college or places I lived, that I will probably never see again in person, but continue to comment and be commented on fairly regularly. Just the other day a friend from my college dorm floor said to me "It's been 18 years since I high fived you in person, but I hope this counts." or something close to that. We have very similar taste in movie chatter, but really never were that close back then - and I have long un-followed several much closer pals from that floor due to their constant kid and vacation pictures.

But I don't see posts from a dear friend who I see probably twice a week, as her feed is about 8 moronic inspirational or yoga or health links or fitness check-ins a day, with two dozen equally inane comments following.

I've started to get desktop notifications on my PC. I haven't looked into why this is happening or how to stop it just yet, but this isn't acceptable. Maybe my wife turned it on and then I logged in? It has to with my mobile account?

Anyway, [expletive] right off, Facebook.

My favorite posters on Facebook are actually family--mostly first cousins and second cousins that I otherwise wouldn't have any contact with. And luckily, they're sane and pretty creative.

My parents were Luddites, so I will never have to worry about my mother ever posting or reading anything on Facebook or any other place.

The worst are former schoolmates from grade school and high school. Boy, did they all turn out to be a waste of genetic material. All but three are silenced on my news feed. Most still live in St. Louis, which is an incentive never to move back.
