God damn, make it more complicated will you. I hate big companies. I may not get this damn thing after all. I mean I'm not really that upset but it just pisses me off. Anyway to [expletive] the consumer.

not sure if thats sarcasm or not but for me thats a big chunk of change...add in 1 or 2 new games at launch and thats an extra 60 or 120. presentation (i was off and on 'cause of work) certainly seems flashy and it looks good but the underlying issues (non backwards compatible, used games at full price and always on) still weigh heavily in my decision. i noted hearing them say often "with xbox live cloud" thus subtly hinting at always on (even if it is just 1x per 24 hours).

ps4 may very well cost the same. and i knew i wasn't going to get a new console at the beginning, probably wait a year, but i dunno...just frustrating a bit. i really should just quit gaming hah.

No sarcasm. I thought it would launch at 399. That's a disappointing price point. I'm really worried about the console business.

Hopefully the PS4 will be less expensive, but I doubt it.

If the xBox is $500, the PS4 will be $600+ at launch. Sony always puts out the more expensive console. [expletive]. I'll still buy one (of the second generation PS4s).

Quick thought though; considering everything that goes into a console now, are we really upset that a new xBox is cheaper than a 64gb iPad?

There's several analyst saying the PS4 will cost less to produce, despite being more powerful. That's partly due to Kinect in every box and to Sony lucking in to falling GDDR5 prices.

I also wonder if Sony will charge for multiplayer this gen.
