Usually i have beer goggles for local beers when I am on vacation- but beer so far in the panhandle of FL is crapola.

Re: The Beer Thread
With regular access to some Dogfish Head beers in MO, 90 minute Ipa has settled in as a fave. Doesn't taste like an IPA. More of a boozy beer something else. 60 min IPA is an IPA and a decent one. Flesh and Blood IPA is a decent pool beer.
Namaste is good- need more to remember. That is all for now.

Re: The Beer Thread
apparently inbev etc has been buying up craft breweries. Ballast Point - yawn. Cigar City - no big deal here. Wicked Weed - oh no!

Again, there is still a lot of great beer out there not owned by Inbev. I just think we'll see less of it readily accessible as inbev controls distribution and can crowd the others off grocery store shelves and restaurant taps.

Re: The Beer Thread
Even more good eats in the breweries these days.
4 Hands has the guy from Peacemaker doing the food there. Guerrilla Street food is in 2nd Shift.
and in other personal drinking news - I'm drinking can beer more often, even straight from the can at times (...gasp). A few reasons - more good beers are being canned. Urban Chestnut even has a wide mouth pull tab dealie. We moved to apartment and it's easier fridge storage and cans are way to go around the community grilling and pool area.
Also, I'm drinking more IPAs this summer because the options when I am out and about have gone overboard with Gose, Sours, and summer lagers. City Wide Pils, I'll drink that - though it doesn't taste like Pils.

Thanks doe_boy. It took me to get to page 234 of this thread but I have been trying to find this. Tried it while on vacation and it's much better that Schlafly Raspberry Hefeweizen.doe_boy wrote:

On a hot summer day you drink yourself to death with this.
Also while on vacation, we went to Max's Tap Room in Baltimore. Over 100 beers on tap. I tried a red wine/beer combination that was extremely good. I just sent them an e-mail because I don't remember the name.

Just saw this yesterday and picked up a 12 pack to try. They look really sweet but they are not.

Re: The Beer Thread
Drank my 1st Oktoberfest over the weekend, and I don't care. Much better than fruit beer.

I like Octoberfest too, just not in the summer.
