If an Edgewood College woman were raped in Madison by a Wisconsin football player, the city police would have investigated; perhaps campus police would have assisted or even interfered but the athletic department would not try to save face. If a start player had misled the public to enhance his image, the athletic department would not hire a pr firm to save face.

Last year an assistant athletic director was accused of seducing students and resigned. The records of the investigation were made public at UW.

The ND hate is about hypocrisy and protecting its image.

People who believe the conspiracy theory at this point are almost as naive as Te'o himself.

And I'm not a Notre Dame fan, but it's also pretty silly to keep implying that they are the most corrupt university ever. All universities have their warts. I don't really get the Notre Dame hatred.

Sometimes I get it and other times I don't. The whole God and sports thing I don't like. I think a lot of the hate is just our reaction to the media - the overcoverage, the endless hype. Their season sold by ESPN etc like a reality show. The little I saw them play, they were an above average team catching all the breaks and playing with confidence. Hats off to them. Turns out they just weren't that great.

This was addressed earlier. ndistops says that there was no sex thus no rape. Prosecutors didn't file charges.

"The county prosecutor has seen all of the evidence and not only decided against filing charges, but also stated in his December 2010 news release that Ms. Seeberg’s story was in 'conflict' with the accounts provided by the accused student and two students who were with them that night, including a friend of hers, and that her story was 'inconsistent' with cell phone records," Brown said.

"We will not suspend a student based on an allegation, and certainly won’t suspend one when the evidence supports his story, as the prosecutor stated," Brown added.

Brown said there has been an "impression" that Seeberg was raped. "In fact, it was an allegation of touching above the waist," Brown said. "He says it was consensual. She says it wasn’t."

It's tough to pick out one word to describe ND. It's a tough choice between arrogant, egotistical, narcissistic, condescending, conniving and deceitful. If ND were a president, it would be Richard Nixon. That's why people hate them. People love them, conversely, because they're catholic and/or the same.
