Re: Tebow Talk
McDaniels was also supremely arrogant and thought tangibles mattered less because he could make any coach able QB a good starter a la Matt Cassel.
It's why Cutler is a Bears and Tebow is a Broncos.

Re: Tebow Talk
Just so I have this right, the Broncos traded away a pretty talented quarterback in Cutler for Kyle Orton. Kyle Orton is a reasonable approximation of an NFL quarterback for a rebuilding team. A year later with Orton still under contract the Broncos trade Peyton Hillis and a draft pick for Brady Quinn, a reasonable approximation of an NFL backup with some upside. One month later the Broncos trade a 2nd, 3rd and 4th round draft pick plus commit first round money to a guy that no other team had expressed much interest in drafting before the mid rounds. And it's your position that McDaniels made that call on his own and it was strictly a football decision? He didn't have to convince the owners or anyone else that they could sell a bunch of jerseys to christians?Socnorb11 wrote:McDaniels didn't draft him because of his religiuos beliefs. I honestly have no [expletive] clue what you are trying to say here, but I'm pretty sure I disagree with it.However, Tebow's work ethic and attitude are directly related to his Christianity. So you could make a case that he's gotten to where he is because of that. Christianity led to a strong work ethic and strong leadership abilities, which led to NFL success. Christianity didn't lead directly to NFL success, however.

At least Tebow doesn't have Drew Brees's hair. That stuff just doesn't look right.

Have you read his book?
He works incredibly hard, because he believes that it pleases God. Granted, that isn't the only reason he works hard, but it is one reason.

McDaniels absolutely fell in love with Tebow. McDaniels was calling all of the shots for Denver (he hated Cutler, and that's why Cutler was traded). That's not "my position", that's precisely what happened. McDaniels had absolutely no interest in jersey sales, I would imagine.
I don't know if that answers your question, but I believe it does.

I'm just glad the hype is over, for a while at least.
