I've been hearing for two days how this is so bad for United. It's not. Let's not kid ourselves they will get a couple days of press bashing and as soon as the story is old news and quits getting ratings everyone will forget. I know several people that when the stock price took a hit started buying United stock knowing it was coming back soon. The huge companies can't be killed. If United has the best price to where you are going you are going to fly United. It's just the way it is.

You aren't wrong. We just don't have enough choices to really avoid them anyway. 99.9% of my air travel is for work so I can avoid them a little easier since I'm not concerned with price (all the carriers are about the same through our travel app). I pick my flights based on schedule and what's convenient for me as far as times. I normally try Southwest if I can since they have a direct flight at 7:45am to Boston. Making connections is the worst and makes what should be a sub three hour flight into a six hour ordeal. I'll deal with getting stuck in a middle seat to avoid sitting in an airport for a few hours waiting on a connection and having the trip take twice as long.

Delta's since upped what it can offer passengers on overbooked flights. Gate attendants can offer up to $2,000, supervisors can offer close to $10,000.

Since when does United have the lowest fare?IMADreamer wrote:I've been hearing for two days how this is so bad for United. It's not. Take from this what you want, the plane was on its final descent according to United. Woman says she was forced to pee into a cup because she wasn't allowed to get up to use the bathroom:

Re: United Airlines, I hate you deeply.
I heard part of a story a few weeks ago where a plane was in a long line waiting to take off and a guy was told that if he took his kid to the restroom they were going back to the gate and getting kicked off. I never heard whether it was some insane anti terrorism protocol or just simply breaking an FAA rule gets you ejected. From your story, it makes no sense to force someone to pee in a cup then let them go empty the cup in the bathroom they can't use. Oh and make them hold the empty cups afterwards, just to be vindictive. I get that there has to be a lot of rules around flying, but you have to also allow some room for common sense.MrCrowesGarden wrote:Take from this what you want, the plane was on its final descent according to United. At this point I am on the side of the airlines. I think people are taking advantage of the ground swell of negative PR for airlines on "social media" and are staging "incidents". Shut up and take your seat.
