And he's hurt again.
Tommy Pham left the Rays' 4-1 win over the Royals in the eighth inning Tuesday after dislocating his right ring finger.

The finger was popped back into place and X-rays were negative. The Tampa Bay outfielder is day to day.

Rockies calling up Matt Holliday on Thursday

Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies are calling up veteran outfielder Matt Holliday.

Holliday signed a minor league contract with his old team in late July and went on to hit .345/.455/.600 with three home runs, five doubles, and 15 RBI in 16 games between rookie-level Grand Junction and Triple-A Albuquerque. The 38-year-old will probably serve primarily as a bench bat in his return to Colorado, getting the occasional corner-outfield start.

He's in better shape.

Nice bench bat for the Rockies and can be the 5th OF.

Holliday is awesome. I miss being Facebook friends with him for like a day.

What's your take on Marco Gonzales? He was great in the 1st half and has been dreadful in the 2nd half, but the peripherals still sort of like him. What should the Mariners expect from him going forward

Jeff Sullivan

On the one hand, there's every reason to believe Gonzales would be getting tired by now
10:08
He's blown by last year's innings total, and he didn't pitch in 2016. He's lost average and top velocity lately from where he was in April and May
10:09
On the other hand, as you said, Gonzales' peripherals of late don't look that bad. And here's a weird thing:
Gonzales through June: .314 wOBA
Gonzales since July: .345 wOBA
Gonzales through June: .334 xwOBA
Gonzalez since July: .305 xwOBA
10:10
Gonzales hasn't actually been getting torched. I think a lot of this is just badly-timed luck

Great...another player the Cardinals couldn't coach correctly.
