Huh, must’ve taken it down? Is was from Josh Jacob’s from fanside saying the cards were getting 20 mil this year
Guess he must’ve gotten some bad sources!
Edit, yep. Should be 40 mil as opposed him reporting 20 mil.
So a 20 mil decrease from fanduel (60 mil from them)
Editor note: The story has been updated to correct the financial figures. The Cardinals are expected to receive around $40 million in their new broadcast rights agreement, a $20 million decrease from their prior agreement with Main Street Sports Group.

The Cardinals were dealt yet another blow in this ongoing saga this offseason, as St. Louis is expected to receive another major dip in revenue from their television rights deal after details have emerged regarding their expected payment from their new partnership with Major League Baseball. A source confirmed to me this morning that the Cardinals are expected to receive around $40 million from this new partnership, a drop of around $20 million from what they had expected to receive from Main Street Sports Group, the parent company of FanDuel Sports Network. The Athletic and St. Louis Post-Dispatch have also shared similar reports in the last 24 hours.

And the FanDuel deal was $15M less than they expected when it was Bally's, so they're down $35M from that.

Yep; original contract was 75 mil per and now 40 mil…so basically half of what they were originally planning on getting from TV
And prob more drop in attendance with the sell off of any big names

Something I don't think I've seen laid out - how does sales and revenue get handled in these deals?
Did MainStreet/Bally/FanDuel arrange for and sell the advertising? I would assume the Cardinals got their money from MainStreet and then MainStreet took care of everything else and kept the revenue and subscription money. That would be pretty straightforward.
What about now? Does MLB get all of both? And do they keep all the revenue or would some of that be shared with the Cardinals on top of what they're paying for rights? Plus now you've got a nationwide league going around selling advertising for local games, which is probably doable but still a bit odd. Though for all i know, even FSMW's sales people may not have been local.
- removed a bit about where you buy the service - that's pretty clearly routed to MLB once you decide to buy, so I assume all that subscription money goes to MLB directly.

- Central/National Revenue: Revenue from major deals with partners like FOX, Turner, and ESPN is collected by the league and distributed as a central revenue share to each club.
- MLB-Run Local Broadcasts: For teams whose local, private, or RSN-based television deals collapsed (e.g., Bally Sports/Diamond Sports issues), MLB has stepped in to produce and distribute games directly, with revenue returning to the league to be managed for those teams.
- Revenue Sharing Structure: Under the current CBA, 48% of all local revenue—including local TV, sponsorships, and gate receipts—is pooled and redistributed, ensuring smaller-market teams benefit from the total revenue generated by the sport.
- Digital/Streaming Revenue: Revenue from MLB.tv and digital platforms is handled by MLB Advanced Media, which is owned by the clubs, with proceeds supporting overall league revenue

The Braves today announced the launch of BravesVision, a team-owned media entity which will broadcast the club’s games and make them available on television and via streaming. Fans will be able to deal directly with the team to access the broadcasts with no local blackouts. This will include all regular season games except those which are subject to national exclusivities.

Sounds good for Braves fans. Have they announced the price?

So I recently noticed there was a placeholder channel for the Cardinals telecast on my Spectrum list.
I have the super-cheap Xumo-based 15 channel + local package. I pick 15 add-on channels (like Fanduel, ESPN, Comedy Central, etc.). So I wanted to try to swap out a channel I don't use much for the new Cards channel.
I logged into the Spectrum website, but couldn't find the channel selection area. I think they removed it. So I pop open chat, and it keeps bouncing me around highly UNhelpful FAQ style Q&A.
Pro tip: If you get stuck in this FAQ loop from hell in a chat window, just tell the chatbot that it is the worst AI you have ever encountered. You get a human REAL QUICK.
Anyway, so the human finally informs me that things should be finalized tomorrow and it should just automatically switch for me.
I thought this might help some of you fellow Spectrum customers.

Thanks Geddy. That sounds like a good hack for getting a human everywhere.
