I think it's going to be in LA.

San Andreas was set in LA. And Vegas and San Francisco to an extent. It doesn't rule those cities out, but I'm guessing D.C. Rockstar courts controversy.

I just hope it doesn't suck as badly as IV did.

they're extremely high quality games. To me, both are must plays. If you happen to be a Batman fan all that stuff is just bonus.TimeForGuinness wrote:I still haven't played the first one...maybe I should pick up both. With BF3, Skyrim, and Diablo III, I should be set for awhile.Jocephus wrote:fwiw - batman: arkham city is awesome. i love it. its like the first, but bigger. a great mix of "old stuff" from the first, but plenty of "new stuff" too. and the combat is amazing again. lots of easter eggs. lots of things to distract you from the main storyline. very fun.
I just finished the main story line on Arkham City, but still have a lot of side stuff I want to finish up.

Yeah, I'm hoping they put some of the fun back in this one and not worry about realism quite so much. I miss the whole pay n' spray thing for evading the police. The new system was maybe more realistic, but not nearly as fun as just making it into a garage on time. Wouldn't mind having garages back either for keeping cars. And a nice helipad on my mansion.longhornbaseball wrote:I just hope it doesn't suck as badly as IV did.
And I hope I can actually see what's going on when it's dark.

I really hope GTA doesn't go back to the West Coast. It's been done; keep it fresh.
I'm dyin' to see Motor City, Windy City, and Gateway City.
Hell, do a San Andreas with all three, or have all three cities linked by airport terminals. Certainly there would be way more than enough crime and corruption between these three to match anything of Liberty or San Fierro. Maybe you wouldn't have the same size mob bosses, but you would still have gangs and some mafias.

I've been wanting London ever since Vice City came out. There's tons of cinematic British crime references to draw on too - Get Carter, Poor Cow, Layer Cake, Guy Ritchie's stuff.
That would be a freakin blast, but I guess they want to keep it in the states judging by the quotes I've read. I know one of the early GTAs was in London though.

Not enough glamour / sights. Who wants to drive around in a digital Detroit or East St Louis?
They should do Bangkok or Moscow or some other big international city. I say this having never really cared about the GTA series, though. My favorite part of any of it was going for the GOURANGA monks in the first two. ya I'm old school as [expletive], I played more of the 2d GTA 1 and 2 (and London and that prohibition one) than any of the 3d ones.
