Might be one of the few places Schenn would waive his NTC for.

Re: Blues Off-season and 2024-25 Season
Last night's game against Chicago... I don't quite know what to make of it. It was exciting, I'll say that.
Down 2-0 after the first period and looking totally disinterested in competing. But Montgomery must have lit a 4 alarm fire under their asses during first intermission. The DOMINATED the second period, scoring 3 unanswered goals. The third period was WILD. There were 5 goals scored between the two clubs, and somehow we got to overtime.
There's no way we should have allowed Chicago to overtake us in the third. But we didn't roll over and quit, either.
OT was as crazy as usual, and neither team scored. So why not go to shootout in such a wild back and forth game!?!
What would be a fitting script for a shootout in such a wild game, you ask?? How about a 10 round endeavor? Both goalies stopped all but 1 shot attempt each. Until the 10th round when Faksa finally beat their net minder. And Binnington stopped their last shot to FINALLY seal the victory.
Jeez Louise.

I think Laferriere may have gotten a cup of coffee briefly last year. This is just a change of scenery trade for both sides, it seems.

Ok so if the question is, who do you start in a winner take all game in Boston, then answer is Binnington.
Trade predictions? Lots of smoke around the blues. Lots of articles indicating the massively increasing cap makes schenn more valuable than before etc etc.
I think we for sure see faksa moved with retention, and suter moved. I assume we get back a 3rd (suter) and a 4th (faksa). Maybe in a bidding war a 2nd and 3rd, but that’s best case scenario imo.
I think da will push for one big name to be traded. I think it’s likely schenn as there is just so much smoke out there, and so many teams with center needs, if he’ll waive. I could see a team going all in moving a third line shorter and smaller contract back with a solid pick (2nd?) and a B prospect maybe for him. More if retention but who knows if we’ll do that.
Rumors around binner after his stellar performance. I could see that with a veteran goalie coming back to help mentor hofer, along with a pick and prospect. (Though I’d be sad to see binner go, I don’t think we will compete again until he is past his prime)
Others I think aren’t likely until the offseason or next season or not at all unless they get healthy and play better (Faulk) in which case we would probably want to keep them anyways.

DA said we need all 4 points this wknd for him to hold
So will def be interesting should we drop one of the games today or tomorrow
(Obv even if we win these 2 games, but then drop the next 2, he will still sell…I’m taking it as he’s got some things already in his back pocket lined up that he’s pulling the trigger on asap if we lose 1 or both)

Intriguing times ahead, indeed.
But man, it was so awesome to watch Binnington steal that game Thursday night. That OT performance was insane.
Made me so happy to hear the national media and NHL have to praise him.

Seriously; I don’t think we’ve ever NOT given up a goal once the other team pulls their goalie.
That’s should be a clear advantage with them having an empty net, but no…
