With Porter back, some poor team is going to get a HORRIBLE draw, having to play Missouri in the first round. I realize Georgia beat them today, but they're going to be a tough out.

While MPJ will probably find more of a groove than he showed today, he's missed so much action and practice that's oriented towards team/game situations that I don't think he's going to be an enormous lift. Mizzou is better with him replacing Van Leer, no doubt, but that probably takes Mizzou from a team deserving a 8-10 seed to one deserving a 6-8 seed. While that would make a difference in a bracketing context, as far as opponents go there's not a big difference between that 6 and 10 seed line.Socnorb11 wrote:With Porter back, some poor team is going to get a HORRIBLE draw, having to play Missouri in the first round. Honestly, having a depleted Missouri team lose in the 1st round of the SEC tournament might not be the worst thing in the world. If they had to play 4 games in 4 days I think they would have been worn out before the real tournament began.

I'm fine with them not making a deep run, but I wish they had one more SEC tourney game to figure some things out before the dance.

Jordan Barnett arrested for DWI.
Crazy to think he'd do that with his only chance to play in the tournament.

According to the Mizzou student-athlete handbook, an athlete arrested for driving under the influence will be suspended from team activities for a minimum of one week for a first offense. First-round games for NCAA Tournament are Thursday and Friday.
The Tigers are down to eight healthy scholarship players for the postseason, but that number slips to seven if Barnett is unavailable for any NCAA Tournament games.
