Bama had 1 loss in 2014 going into thr playoff. I don't remember people being this high on them back then but I could be wrong.

They were 9.5 point favorites against Ohio State. Literally, 42 of 43 ESPN analysts picked Alabama to beat Ohio State.

Oh they will be bigger favorites this year if the two face off. Well...maybe not. Still I would be hesitant to use espn mouthpieces as a way to represent what we were saying.

I'm guessing if GRB doesn't think that Ohio State has a shot this year, they probably didn't think that Ohio State had a shot 2 years ago, either. I'm not going to search for the thread, but if 42 of 43 ESPN analysts thought Alabama would roll, I suspect that GRB (which has never had much love for the Big Ten) didn't have much love for Ohio State, either.

Honestly, I'm not even sure what your point is, at this point. Alabama was huge favorites over Ohio State 2 years ago, and they lost. Alabama will be huge favorites if they play Ohio State this year......... I see no reason why they couldn't lose again.

Okay? Your point is in the realm of all possibilities, Ohio state can beat alabama? That's not even remotely close to what originally was said which was that Ohio state has a stronger resume than alabama. You then backed it up by discounting thr 40 some odd point alabama had over usc.

And yeah for a couple years when grb had a picked contest, there wasn't a single one of the 12 or so regular contestants where we picked a single game at 100 percent. So I can almost guarantee in a playoff game it wouldn't be 100 percent like espn. Or 96 percent.

Anyway, back to my point, it's that alabama looks like a better team than osu because they've looked better on the field and on paper. Almost everyone in the world agrees with that except you. If you want to back it up, I'll bet you anywhere from $10 to literally any amount you want to bet that alabama wins. Could I be wrong? Yeah its a possibility. BUT, Vegas will agree with my assessment, and I can hedge any bet there to book a win before the games even played. So, let's do it.

top 4 doesnt really matter. it's alabama and then a mixed bag of teams that would lose to alabama. some by less of a margin than others, but would still lose nonetheless

You're pretty much proving my point. You will take OSU by plenty (just like I'm sure you would have 2 years ago), and Vegas will take Alabama (which they did big 2 years ago), but OSU would have a real good chance at winning (just like they did 2 years ago).

Oh, and I'm not guaranteeing an Ohio State win, but they definitely have the better resume. They've played 4 teams that are currently ranked higher than anyone that Alabama has played.
