BF3 LE for 42 preorder on amazon is still alive. I want to shoot a jet out of the sky from my tank. Badly.

It's definitely a very pretty game. Got home late last night so I only got to ride around a little bit, and with tonight's game I doubt I get much more driving in. I'll probably just glue myself to it this weekend.

On what system? PC? I can't find a link.

EDIT: nevermind, I got it.

I did weeks worth of gaming last night. lol I was home alone and played from 4pm to midnight. Doubt I play at all tonight with the game on though. I love it, I do think it's too easy to beat the AI, but hot lapping, and racing with my friends is what the game is about for me so I'll get some real competition soon. It's certainly not a huge leap forward in the series but at this point it won't be until the next Xbox comes out, but it's definitely a finely polished franchise at this point and is good enough for me.

Yea, I was really hoping they'd introduce racing series. Like catching on with an ALMS team and racing a season just there. Maybe even have qualifying and all that jazz. I'm just excited about the new tire data they're using and suspension geometry. Walking around the car and listening to Jeremy Clarkson talk about them is pretty cool. The exhaust notes sound great, just seem to lack the low end. I know they said they're using something with the audio so that it sounds better on weaker systems, but I have a pretty badass 7.1 surround sound set up that is very deep, so the engine revving sounded a lot less exciting than I was hoping for.

I was kind of disappointed in a how few of cars from my Forza 3 collection transfered over. Really I only bought this game because of the Top Gear involvement. After this game I'm probably going to stick with actual racing simulators like rFactor.

I would say the game sounds amazing on my TV and just ok on surround sound so I can see that maybe it's optimized for weak systems. I haven't tried it with my tritton head set yet, which is how I do most of my gaming so I don't disturb my gf. I hope it sounds good on the head set.

I was disappointed too at how few cars transferred. I made a pretty big effort to do race paints in FM3 and had over 100 million credits at the end and basically all the expensive cars. I was really hoping those would transfer but they didn't. oh well. I'm a muscle car guy so the car selection is amazing to me, but I assume most people are pretty happy with it as their is a wide variety.

BTW the star in a reasonably priced car challenge is stupid addicting.
