You’re my ….

I was torn between rooting for England to see the England Mexico game or against them bc always root for the underdog.

Glad the us got proper [expletive] even in a win. Wouldn’t be a WC without disappointment

One thing I learned going to Europe years many years ago is they’re every bit as into tacky, cheesy [expletive] as Americans. (Not an insult). And really as far as that goes I could’ve just watched Eurovision.

Iran’s run was brutal. I was sort of rooting for those guys. Two terrible regimes devastating their country. They thought they were through with a goal in stoppage time of their last game—but were offsides by a big toe. Then Algeria scored at the very end of their last game and Iran was in again—until Austria scored with the 30 seconds left and Iran was out again. What a roller coaster. They’re going through a lot to play these games in addition to everything else.

Loving the Cabo Verde run. And the US is so different this time around. The play, but also something about the pheromones they’re releasing into the ether or something. More than some little brother sense of ‘we belong,’ but I’m not sure how to articulate it.

Beckham commercials I’ve seen:

Stella Artois
Home Depot
McDonald’s
Bank of America
Lays
adidas
Verizon
I’m just hoping he starts a podcast with Chicharito so that I can not listen to their squeaky awful voices in one move. I could stand to see less of him. Maybe some other player and they could add a chrome that says, ‘hello American this is a soccer guy, like David Beckham from the previous 80 commercials.’

It’s really fun to see the US play well and be able to attack.

I am tired of Beckham ads, but no more Pulisic ads as that guy cannot act.

Ronaldo reminds me of A-Rod. Great numbers, but auch a selfish douche. I was laughing as the announcers subtlety calling him out during the game.

Roster market values:

Argentina: $807,000,000
Cape Verde: $49,000,000

One of the most amazing sports things I’ve seen.

Expect teams like the Cardinals all over the world to point at this and slash payrolls further.

Trump called FIFA can got Falorin Balogun eligible to play Belgium after getting a red card. First time that's ever happened. The fix is in! The USMNT is gonna win their first ever World Cup. Congrats everyone.

The first time a red card in the World Cup hasn't resulted in a suspension since 1962 (when the rule was different).
