Yeah no need overthinking this. They just haven’t introduced any purely likable characters like an Arya, Tyrion, Brienne, Varys, etc. rhaenyra is likable but ultimately a sulking teen. They need to flesh out the supporting cast and get some relatable characters.

My impression thus far is Crabfeeder was basically a MacGuffin or Chekov's gun. An inciting incident to start the true conflicts. I think They were shooting for a little in medias res; have a generic antagonist to give context to the conflict of the main characters. Honestly, it's part of what made like 80's movies so great at times - like Predator or Alien so I'm ok with it. It almost feels like a prologue for me.
Brienne didn't get introduced right away; Tyrion was barely likeable the first few episodes. Arya was but so was Bran?
I don't mind the fecklessness of Crabfeeder but it does feel like they are speedrunning a history book more than telling a story. I'm hoping the political intrigue and jockeying becomes more prominent soon.

Or like to hate characters like Joffrey, Cersei, Tywin, Alliser, Viserys, etc.thrill wrote: ↑September 7 22, 3:10 pmYeah no need overthinking this. My understanding from asking die-hard asoiaf fhistory lovers is likeable characters don't really exist in The Dance of the Dragons.

It is a lot of sourpusses. Daemon seems like the best candidate for a character that's actually having some fun, which is saying something. Everything I've seen of adult Rhaenyra suggests she's loses her sense of humor.

I haven’t read fire and blood since it first came out so I only remember details when they happen, such as who married who, so even though I should know what happens, I very much forgot, which is great. I always thought Dunc & Egg/blackfyre rebellion would be better to adapt specifically because of the balance between likable and hated characters. Also way more direct connective tissue to Thrones with young Maester Aemon, the three eyed raven, and brienne’s great great grandpa Ser Duncan the tall.

I've suspected since GoT ended there will be too much money on the table still in... ten, now seven years - you'll probably get talk of a legit sequel series that will be independent of whatever GRRM intends to do with the books. Dany comes back, Bran has been the Night King the whole time playing some long con, etc. Arya returns from her voyage, etc. Toss it all in a blender. The majority of the original cast will be ready for the payday.

I mean the first episode had twincest an child murder.
I was more annoyed with the female director talking about shooting sex scenes from a female perspective but the cut in shots they used during the interview were the camera looking at the woman?
I'm probably desensitized to it all that.
