All hope is lost.
But seriously, win some games.

They seem to just not have their legs right now. Lots of predictions about this happening in the early part of the season. Just gotta push through it and make sure you make it to the dance again.

Ugly win, but a win it was. 6-3-3 to start. Could be worse. Could be better, but could be worse.
EDIT: Also, I've been really impressed with Perron again so far this year. I railed against the signing last year, thinking he was a third liner, but dude has hands and patience. He takes some dumb penalties, but he's a bargain at $4m as a supplementary scoring piece. If he can maintain his value as a legit scoring line player through this year and next, that would be a huge win on that deal, even if he starts to decline in the last year of the deal.

Big time bummer, but at least that allows for him to be back for the playoffs. Hoping of course that we can make it without him.cardsfantx wrote:tarasenko out 5 months with shoulder surgery

A bummer for sure, but the blues have depth and talented kids. They won’t replace tank, but it should be enough to get them to the playoffs.

Should be enough, but the Western Conference is pretty tight. I'm not sure if I'd safely rule anyone out of a playoff spot this season. Maybe the Kings and 'Hawks, but even they still have top-end talent that could find their way back.

I can see the Blues letting the chips settle for awhile to see how the lines play out, then trading for a last year of contract scoring winger type of player after the new year or towards the deadline, especially if it looks like they have a shot to make another run and the cost isn't a blue chip prospect and/or first rounder. Not a top scorer, (those would be a 1st and a good prospect) but 2nd/3rd line tweener. Like a Bozak. Someone who is probably a really good third liner/okay second liner when surrounded by good players, who could be had for a 3rd and a mid tier prospect or something like that.
