Except by doing that and scaring the [expletive] out of them, they're also more likely to unintentionally swerve their vehicle and possibly hit someone/something.

Not that they're not just as likely to hit someone/something when they're busy doinking around with their phone and not paying attention to their surroundings...

To be clear, I do that at stop lights, not on the freeway.

You know who actually is a group of really good drivers, and it's going to surprise you a little bit because you wouldn't think they were. Hopefully this isn't painting with too broad of a brush and I hope I don't insult people by labeling a group like this, but oh what the hell why not we are all friends here. The group that are good drivers? Horses. I'm not kidding, I've never seen an Amish buggy cut into traffic or run a red light or anything else. Horses are really good drivers.

In Upstate NY the Amish buggies are a bit of a sore topic almongst the locals. There are several Amish homeowners just down the road from my wife's mom's house. We were just up there last weekend visiting, and we passed several. They even have a couple one-room schoolhouses that they've built in the area. They have farms in town just like everyone else - the problem are their buggies.

They have steel wheels so that they will last a long time - awesome. However they [expletive] tear the roads up to all hell - and because they are Amish, they do not pay taxes. So the locals are stuck paying to repair all of the roads that they destroy.
