I'm sure if you have some advanced palette or pay attention or whatever, you can tell the difference between free range chicken that paraded their days away pecking on organic grass/feed/whatever and a chicken that was shot full of steroids and antibiotics being fed 8 pounds of disgusting slop while living in a 1 foot cube. But....that's for the heuty teutie to discuss. We're talking about arby's. Suffice to say, they pass the FDA requirements, probably barely, and they have a meat mountain for sale for $10. This isn't going to be some high quality chicken/ham/roastbeef/bacon. Which brings me back to my long-winded point: Who cares what it is?

There are only a few questions you really need to be worried about:
Does it taste good?
Is it going to make you violently ill?
Did someone rub their nuts on it?

If the answers are Yes, No, No, bring it on.

I don't think those answers are accurate w/r/t Arby's meat, though.

Shoot, the taste is open to interpretation, fine. But 99% of the time, probably more, the answers to 2 and 3 are no.

Mrs. AW every time I bring up going to mcdonalds or something like that, she'll give me the stink eye like their meat is rat vagina or something. Hey, it may be, so be it. But, every now and then, that [expletive] is good. Don't give me this look like I just asked you to eat human feces....or, really, something insanely inferior to chicken that we buy at the store.

There's a really cute emo chick that works at the Arby's by my place. I wouldn't go with your phrasing but I think I could come up with something to say to totally creep her out.

Is it really weird to wonder if meat comes from an animal that was raised in a stinking cesspool of [expletive] or not and maybe had a little wing room?
Seriously, that's wrong? If it is, I don't wanna be right.

I buy meat from Jeremy Parker and Todd Geisart and a few others that I'm familiar with.

Do you think it's weird? I like meat. We get plenty so it's okay to pay real costs and not eat as much. If I decide to eat at the local Chinese place or mid priced restaurant I live with it. But for home cooking, I choose to eat the meat of animals that was treated with a modicum of decency?respect?dignity? before it was slaughtered.

I think its weird to be inconsistent. To say a Tyson chicken from schmucks or Wal-Mart is okay but somehow a fast food chicken sandwich is gross is weird to me. And I'd guess there are more people like that than like you.
