Outside Magazine went with shirtless Dempsey for their US Soccer coverboy.

I'm a Klinsmann fan because of the results so far, but don't believe the hype in terms of some of the trailblazing he thinks he's doing. It's overrated and largely unnecessary.

the one article suggests he wants the team to be uniquely American, the other not so much.

It's not the author's fault, I don't think. He constantly contradicts himself. He wants to be a Phil Jacksonesque philosopher but really, he just likes to talk. His greatest contribution to US Soccer isn't going to be philosophical. It will be/is opening the door to dual nationals like the German-American contingent and Aron Johansson. His resume as a player lends him credibility in recruiting these guys that Bob Bradley (a much better tactical coach) & Bruce Arena wouldn't have.

He's infused the player pool with serious talent and lends international cache to the position, but he's not reinventing the wheel or shifting paradigms about how American players approach the game or their careers.

I've watched the vid at least a dozen times now...All good, with the exception of Stuart Scott and the old English lady with 1966 tattooed on her tit.

I'm officially jumping on the USA bandwagon today... Who's favored today vs Nigeria? Should I care about the score of this game or is it like preseason?

It's a friendly right before the World Cup, they're just trying not to get hurt. Don't read too much into it.

"Trail blazer" Klinsmann is basically running out Bob Bradley's tactics from 2010 today but without Landon Donovan.

Today's lineup.
Howard
Fab, Cam, Besler, Beas
Jones, Beckerman,
Dempsey, Bradley, Bedoya
Jozy
Could be interesting.

Landon would look awfully good on the left instead of Bedoya.

Good first half, now pull the key guys and wrap them in packing bubbles.
