David Garrard is one of the better examples of why QB rating is such a lousy statistic. If you attempt 20 short passes a game and take a sack every other series, you rate as one of the more efficient passers in the NFL, despite the fact that you aren't really moving the ball up the field worth a damn.

He might be a little bit better than the schlubs Jacksonville has sticking around, but in spite of their fluke 8-8 record Jacksonville had one of the worst point differentials in the AFC and aren't going anywhere this year, and nobody is going to give Garrard the money he was due to make with the Jaguars this year.

The only place Jacksonville is going is Los Angeles...AMIRITE?!

Sure, if he can avoid the hits that caused his injuries. He apparently came back from surgery still with one of the stronger arms in the NFL, which is no guarantee of long-term health, but in the short term I have to think his shoulder is healthy. The Lions have enough talent to be a longshot for the postseason.

Don't see any reason to think he's not.

Yes. Tough start, but not really brutal. They're obviously huge underdogs at Green Bay, but I don't see any other games they don't have a significant chance of winning.
